jp-communication-enhancer

A Japanese communication Gem tailored for non-native developers working in Japanese IT teams. Draft in English (or rough Japanese), and the Gem returns three polished versions: Slack-friendly, standard email, and formal — with brief explanations of kanji choices and cultural softeners.

Writing business Japanese as a non-native developer means three hard decisions per message: how formal, which technical terms, and how to soften a direct request. This Gem makes all three for you and shows its work.

Every request returns exactly three versions:

  • Level 1 — Slack / Teams — internal, natural, efficient, frequent お疲れ様です
  • Level 2 — Standard Business — email to internal managers, formal meetings
  • Level 3 — Formal — external clients, upper management

Alongside each version, the Gem integrates Japanese IT vocabulary actually used in dev teams (起票, プルリク, コンフリクト) rather than dictionary translations. When your input reads too direct for a Japanese context, it inserts クッション言葉 (softener phrases) and explains the nuance — for example, why it chose ご教示 over 教えて.

  • You’re about to send a message to a Japanese colleague, manager, or client and want it to sound natural, not translated
  • You drafted something in English that feels too direct and need the polite equivalent
  • You want to learn why a phrasing works — the Gem explains kanji and verb choices briefly
